Hello. I need to know my wallet address. How can i get it?
A wallet is a collection of addresses (public keys). It doesn’t have a single address, but a sequence of them.
A wallet is a seed of a deterministic pseudorandom number generator, where each number in this sequence is a private key (which is used to calculate a public key, which is an address).
If you are using litecoin-qt as your Litecoin client, the procedure for seeing which addresses belong to your wallet (receiving addresses) is as follows:
Use the menu path “File” → “Receiving addresses…”
Look at the list that appears on the new window that opens
If you think that this explanation was useful to you, you can tip me at the following address:
If you tip me, I’ll see from where the payment came from, and I’ll use that information to tell you one or more of the addresses that belongs to your wallet, effectively answering your original question to some extent!
I dont have anything in this window, just empty list. What should i do?
That’s because you have never received a payment in Litecoin. When you request payments in Litecoin, an address is generated for you, and that will be recorded on the “receiving addresses” list. Here is the procedure:
Click the button “Receive” in the main screen of “litecoin-qt”
Fill the form for creating a new receiving address (I suggest to always leave the “Generate native segwit (Bech32) address” checkbox checked) and press the button “Request payment”.
A new window will pop-up, and it will have the data of the recently created address.
If you want to withdraw some coins from an exchange, this is the procedure you should use.
thank you so much it worked
