Is there a (professionally written) paper (i.e. white-paper) that compares Litecoin and Dogecoin? How about Litecoin versus Solana, as another example of comparing digital assets? For instance, how and why is Litecoin a better digital asset for transactions, including tips, when compared to other networks? (Noted: Dogecoin’s logo may be evolving into the letter — D — perhaps symbolizing dollar/dinero.)
I don’t have much to offer here, but fast forward into the future where we are transacting with crypto everywhere, and you can see that the coin with unlimited supply can be relied upon more than the one that would be hoarded for it’s value.
As far as fees, speed, etc., someone with more knowledge of this topic will have to help you there
Rumor is the Elon Musk is supporting Doge.
The staff keeping Litecoin is small, but steady. You need to compare their github profiles.
After reading a post/reply earlier, I better realized how Litecoin was named.
___Coin, as is (bit)Coin, yet a Li(gh)te(r) version = Litecoin.
The reason for developing Litecoin initially may have been for more speed, in addition to more supply at a relatively more affordable purchase price (for X amount of time). Hence would be interested to know how Litecoin is better now than Bitcoin, including the combination of Bitcoin + Lightning network.
Does anyone follow institutional investments in Litecoin, or whether companies are buying LTC for their corporate treasuries (balance sheet), as is happening with Bitcoin?
Keep in mind the lightning network is a layer to bitcoin and is not inherent in the programming. Setting one up I’d say is not for the average person (thinking forward to mass adoption phase). The blocks are approx every 10 minutes where LTC are approx 2.5
I hope for very little investment from institutional organizations.
For your information the lightning network is not as easy as sending off a Coin.
Litecoin is better than Bitcoin in most regards. You read the Bitcoin whitepaper and replace Bitcoin with Litecoin and it is still a valid whitepaper. While Bitcoin is just a store for value.
It is pretty obvious that the people pleading for a higher price hold enough Litecoin to be rich. I seriously doubt anything beyond that they themselves imagine.
There’s no official whitepaper directly comparing Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Solana, but several industry analyses and research articles cover their use cases. Litecoin is often favored for transactions due to its low fees, fast confirmation times, and long-standing network stability. Dogecoin, while similar technically, was created as a meme and lacks Litecoin’s development focus. Solana offers high throughput but has faced reliability issues. For tips and everyday payments, Litecoin remains a strong choice due to its security, low cost, and adoption. Look for comparative articles on sites like CoinDesk or Messari
I remember reading that Elon’s son is a holder of Doge. There was big anticipation of him pumping Doge in a SNL skit a few years back where I think he did nothing, or even the opposite. I am not a holder of Doge I see no value in the tokenomics. I feel sorry for people going all in on this crypto. I can only guess they don’t really understand what they got themselves into.
I didn’t mention, but if you look up Doge’s supply, I’m pretty sure it’s uncapped. Not only that but it has (daily?) disbursements of (10k?) coins if I’m not mistaken. It’s a meme coin. I’m scared for those that take their financial future and pin it to such an asset…
I’m not sure if you understand why that’s bad or not but it’s almost in line with fiat which is a problem LTC solves.
