Is litecoin going to stop mining in the future?

i’m wondering if litecoin is going to stop POV and start POS! if you have any idea, please let me know!
Is it possible to change the extraction of light quinces like; eth?
I want to buy a coin LTC mining machine .(asic miner)

I don’t know about this situation. But i will advice you to not spend your time, resources and money in mining. Instead, buy LTC from the money which you are going to spend reason being mining won’t be much profitable for you when you will consider additional costs.

It seems practically impossible that Litecoin would ever change to POS or even to another mining algorithm.

What a weird idea. If there is no catastrophic reason to do it (e.g. hash algorithm is flawed), then hardforking just to completely change the mining algorithm is a very bad idea. The original network for sure would keep running. Why wouldn’t it? Miners have invested in the hardware, everything is running fine, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to leave the network. You can hardfork the network, but I wouldn’t expect most of the community to follow. And even if they would do, the minority…

If it does, then there is no way to stop cryptocurrency still, so i think it would still go on with or without litecoin doing its part in the game at the very least if you are going to ask.
