How is MWEB adoption progressing, and its priorities?

I’ve been following Litecoin for a while and I really appreciate how it continues to position itself as a reliable, fast, and low-fee digital currency. One of the most interesting additions to the protocol has been MWEB, which enhances privacy and fungibility without changing the core nature of Litecoin.I’m curious about the community’s perspective on two things:

  1. How widely is MWEB actually being used right now in real transactions?

  2. From a development and roadmap perspective, what do you think should be Litecoin’s next big technical or ecosystem priority.

Would love to hear thoughts from people who actively follow the project’s technical side or use LTC regularly in practice.

  1. About 200-300 transactions per day are MWEB. Of course we don’t know whether that’s spending on real goods, transferring coins to other people or just experimentation.
  2. The MWEB software and libraries have all been developed and have been in production for almost 2 years now. This includes tools for merchants to accept MWEB payments. The priority for non-technical users is to lobby for more merchant acceptance of MWEB.

A BTCPayServer plugin for MWEB was developed early in 2025 and powers several merchants including the official LTC shop, Cake Pay, some VPN providers and NanoGPT. What this means is that any merchants that already accept LTC using BTCPayServer should be able to easily accept MWEB as well, all they need to do is install the plugin. This needs to be more widely known.
