I think the Doge community would have to agree on this. ETH already have many other Doge like token. I don’t think they actually need to take away the real Doge.
With that said, litecoin would do just fine without merge mining.

No they can’t take away or they can’t stop people merge mine LTC/Doge
Ethereum build a bridge between Doge and ETH it’s just mean you can POS ETH and in return you can get Doge if you wish or you can convert your ETH to Doge viseversa.

True. There are many projects that you can convert your real coin to the tokenized ones.
