Do you run a Litecoin node?

Just fired up my own node a few days ago, it’s awesome to be a part of actively securing the network.

Steps I followed to run a node:

  1. Download Litecoin Core and Sync the latest blockchain (Takes a while)
  2. Enable port forwarding on your router to allow external connections to port 9333.

You can use something like the ‘canyouseeme’ (just google this) port checker with your ip and port 9333 to see if external connections to your node are possible. Once done your all good to go!

In Litecoin Core, you can go to “Window→Network Traffic→Peers“ to check if there are any inbound connections. Usually if running a full node you will see both inbound and outbound connections in this tab.

Thanks, Lunar– good tips.

Unfortunately, I don’t, because I have limited bandwidth at home. I can’t download the initial blockchain.

Good on you. More node-runners is one of the best things for a decentralized cryptocurrency these days. If you wouldn’t mind, keep an eye on this forum, so you can help newbies with node questions.
