Can Litecoin Play a Bigger Role in the Evolving DeFi Ecosystem?

Litecoin has always been known as one of the most stable and long-standing cryptocurrencies in the market. While it doesn’t always get the same attention as newer chains, its reliability and strong community remain impressive.

What I find interesting is how Litecoin could potentially expand its utility beyond simple peer-to-peer transactions.

With the broader crypto ecosystem moving toward DeFi, cross-chain bridges, and tokenization, there may be opportunities for Litecoin to integrate more deeply into decentralized finance infrastructure.

Its faster block times and lower transaction fees compared to some major networks could make it attractive for certain use cases especially payments and settlement layers.

The question is whether Litecoin should remain focused on being “digital silver” or gradually explore deeper smart contract and DeFi integrations through interoperability solutions.

Do you think Litecoin should stick to its core identity, or evolve further into the DeFi space?

Looking forward to hearing the community’s perspective.
