Users that sign up between this period have an ID within the range [22339, 22589]. We need to randomly choose a user between this range.

To do this in a trustless way, we use the following method.

We know that there are 22589 - 22339 + 1 = 251 candidates.

We choose the block hash of a Bitcoin block in the future as the random number generator. Suppose that we get a block hash H, we use the remainder of H divided by 251 to choose the winner.

For example, if H = 00000000000000000003e450023acc757a549d819c841f86c05bdc9af5d4725d, we convert it into decimal first and get 372764774340306419839986098541568474420199545002816093. We divide this number by 251 and get the remainder 16, and we will finally choose the user with an ID of 22339 + 16 as the winner.

The latest Bitcoin block height at the time of writing is 656274. Let’ use the block of height 656274 + 100, which will appear about 16 hours later, to decide the winner.
